He still lives in Utah with his lovely bride. His two adult daughters and three bonus kids are scattered in various places, and his two little granddudes live with their Momma in Eastern Idaho.

Bear has dedicated his life to helping people believe in themselves and works EVERY Day to help folks find their purpose and their joy.

As a bonus, Bear is an Ordained Minister who performs weddings for couples all over the world and he LOVES celebrating Love!

#72 –Carlyn Shaw - A Story of Perspective

Welcome to the #ShareYourHotness Podcast Episode 72!

Meet my dear friend Carlyn Shaw.

Carlyn was diagnosed with MS over two decades ago. She's had an abortion. She nearly died in a motorcycle accident.

Do I have your attention yet? :)

These events were the catalyst for a transformative time in her life. Listen to this one intently, my friends. This is one you will never forget.

Carlyn's bio:

When the idea of being who you dream to be no longer feels, daunting, when your purpose calls you, when you're inspired to experience what you deserve, life shows up as possibilities: small world coincidences, friendship, love, abundance, ideas, and opportunities… all from self-love.

Life is not to be protected, it’s to be experienced. Your destiny is not defined by what has robbed you, controlled you, or limited you. Your destiny is defined by the stepping stones you choose to create as a result of the circumstances you’ve been given. It’s not easy, it doesn’t feel good. They are called “growing pains” for a reason- you must be willing to let go of what happened to you and rebuild the precious life, waiting for you.

You came here to be you. I came here to be me.

When we are true to what makes us authentic and unique, we connect with people who expand our possibilities, naturally and exponentially.

I was trapped in a story that could have stolen my life. It was labeled MS. I was trapped in a story that could have stolen my faith. It was labeled grief. I was trapped in the story of anxiety. It was labeled the wrong job. I was trapped in people pleasing. It was labeled an unhappy relationship. I was trapped in negative self-talk. It was labeled an eating disorder. I was trapped in addiction, it was labeled an eating disorder. I was trapped in depression… I was trapped in negative self-talk. I was trapped in fear. It was called, playing small. I was trapped in feeling alone. It was called hiding my truth.

It took time, it took courage. I rewrote these stories and healed myself. I let go of victimization and became the victorious version of myself I knew, deep down, in the pit of my core, was possible. The only thing I had to do: was permit myself to pursue, what felt impossible, trust the process, and allow the life I was meant to experience present itself with endless possibilities. Now it’s your turn, let’s free you. It's your turn, to free yourself.

If you allow me, I'll teach you how to retell your story, from a place of joy vs pain. I'll be your cheerleader, your guide, and your partner through a process of transformation, activation, and ascension into the highest version of your authentic self. I'll hold your hand and help you step on the path of possibility, calling you to your truth.

Though we are meant to understand suffering, we are not meant to choose, suffering. When you permit yourself to let fear and pain be your springboard, you'll discover silver linings to every cloud.

Join me, life is meant to be fun! Let's play in possibility.

#70 –Stephanie Mouritsen - Passionate Educator

Welcome to the #ShareYourHotness Podcast Episode 70!

Meet my friend Stephanie! :) We actually just met in real life, (or IRL as the kids say), but we've been friends online for a very long time.

Stephanie is the mother of eight (8!) kids in her personal life, and is an educator for an online school, where she oversees THOUSANDS of kids! Talk about a lot of papers to grade!

She was raised in a small agricultural town in northeastern rural Arizona. After marrying her 1st husband at 19, she moved to Utah, where they had three awesome sons. Now, she is remarried to her 2nd (and last) husband, Hugh--who also had three amazing children of his own (a son and two daughters) from his 1st marriage. They have been married to each other for 10 years and have a daughter and son together.

As a perpetual student, she earned a Master of Arts in Teaching and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership. She has been an educator for over 25 years: a para-educator, a high school teacher (English, Spanish, Yearbook, Interpersonal Communication), a university adjunct professor (something she still does for the Department of Communication at Weber State University), a junior high administrator, and now as a principal for an online school.

Stephanie loves to listen to books and podcasts, write, play the piano and sing, and learn new things (she recently started taking clogging lessons and learning Danish online). When she grows up (and retires from public education) she wants to be a professional genealogist, write a book, and travel to Denmark and Machu Picchu, Peru.

#66 –A Conversation with Wendy Kelly

Member of the Deaf Community, Communications Specialist

Welcome to the #ShareYourHotness Podcast Episode 66!

Meet my friend Wendy Kelly! Wendy is a survivor, and a member of the Deaf Community. :)

Wendy experienced sexual abuse molestation as a child and teen, as well as emotional, financial, and mental abuse during her marriage. As a hard-of-hearing/deaf woman, she has also experienced various levels of discrimination throughout her 20-year career in non-profit leadership. The misappropriations and perceptions of persons with disabilities, as well as of those who have experienced domestic violence and sexual assault moved her to raise her voice and become an advocate for those who may not feel heard or seen, and have been discriminated against. You Can't Yell at the Deaf Girl was born out of these experiences and has set the foundation for sharing a mission of empathy, compassion, clarity, effort, and intention in communication.

Wendy works with individuals, corporations, and community groups as they walk through the processes of diving deep and working through the layers of "stuff" that builds up and clouds people's perceptions that can often create hard to overcome challenges in communication using mindful yet creative and empathetic communication techniques that are supported by trauma-responsive modalities.

She has also worked with several corporations over the years in writing effective and well-thought out diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies, taught communication classes at the Utah Women's Correctional Facility, and facilitates women's only retreats centered around reclaiming one's sacred self.

The journey of self reclamation has become the one big adventure in Wendy's life. Learned and lived experiences have given her a wide open view of how empathetic communication with self and others is key to the healing journey.

In her spare time, Wendy enjoys being outdoors and exploring the mountains and trails of Utah, Oregon, and Washington, coaching for Special Olympics Utah, and spending time with her family. She is mom to two amazing humans and "grammy" to one absolutely adorable little girl. Wine tasting excursions, coffee shop visits, exploring small towns, finding good, local art, attending music festivals, and enjoying time with friends and family are the happiest of moments for her.
